Projects and resources
Here are some examples of past projects and resulting resources developed by The AgTech Network.
Incofin Foundation’s AgTech Innovation Fund, 2025-6
The AgTech Network were proud to support Incofin Foundation with insights and knowledge products across their portfolio of 14 AgTech solutions across Latin America. This comprised quarterly and final reports, as well as conducting shared learning sessions for the portfolio. The AgTech Network team also developed the website for the project and the video below, showcasing some of the challenges faced by smallholder farmers in Bolivia, Colombia and Peru as well as the solutions designed by the grantees.
Incofin’s Foundation AgTech Portfolio lessons and findings
The AgTech Network was commissioned by Incofin Foundation to design, accompany, and externally evaluate a 14-member agtech cohort operating across six Latin American countries throughout 2025.
Over the course of the project, we conducted quarterly interviews with all grantees, carried out field visits in Bolivia and Colombia, and reviewed hundreds of supporting documents — from UX research findings to partner contracts and user uptake data. We co-facilitated knowledge-sharing sessions across the cohort, helping organizations learn from each other's experiences in real time.
The result is this report: an account of what it actually takes to bring digital agriculture solutions to smallholder farmers at scale. It draws on direct observation and primary research to document grantees' implementation challenges, strategic pivots, and early impact — and translates those experiences into practical recommendations for investors, funders, and innovators working in this space.

To ensure a diverse range of experiences and perspectives,we sought interviews with various types of organizations, including government agencies, research institutions, NGOs, investors, farmer associations, agribusinesses, technology companies, agtechs, and fintechs in the country. In total we interviewed over 30 relevant actors. The analysis has identified opportunities for impactful investments and interventions. Key objectives include mapping relevant actors in the digital agriculture ecosystem, pinpointing challenges and opportunities for effective technology adoption in the agriculture sector, and assessing the specific hurdles and prospects for Tanzanian women and youth in digital agriculture. This research was commissioned by USAID and published in 2023.
The Digital Agriculture Ecosystem Assessment for Colombia, 2023
In this report, The AgTech Network provides a comprehensive overview of Colombia's digital agriculture landscape. For this project we have interviewed over 30 organisations (actively doing work in Colombia), and profiled over 150 digital services and solutions for the agricultural sector. Our research has identified opportunities for impactful investments and interventions for enhancing the digital agriculture ecosystem and supporting innovation. Key objectives of this research included mapping relevant actors in the digital agriculture ecosystem, pinpointing challenges and opportunities for effective technology adoption in the agriculture sector, and assessing the specific hurdles and prospects for smallholder farmers and youth in digital agriculture. Special focus in this report has been given to climate adaptation of the agricultural sector and developing PDET areas through AgTech innovations. The report was published in 2023.
Climate Finance for Early Stage Innovations in Low-Income Country Settings, 2023
The AgTech Network has collaborated with a peer consultancy Urban emerge on a research project for FT HUB (FCDO funded innovation centre). This project involved about 20 stakeholder interviews and multiple validation workshop to gather and synthesise insights around gaps in the funding cycle available for innovators in climate space. The AgTech Network team has mapped out key players in climate mitigation and adaptation space for LMIC - both from demand and supply side, with the focus on agriculture and natural resource management sectors. The project resulted in recommendations for funders looking to support climate adaptation and mitigation in LMIC and a publicly available report.
